Who is Kat Sykes
I walk with people through the sacred terrain of loss and life transitions—those thresholds that ask us to release what was, honor what is, and step tenderly into what will be. As a death doula and sacred journey guide, I support individuals and families through the profound passage of end of life, offering presence, grounding, and compassion as we navigate the mystery together. Whether I am accompanying someone as they prepare to leave this world or walking alongside loved ones as they face the ache of anticipated or sudden loss, my role is to help you feel held, seen, and supported through one of life’s most transformative passages.
This work is not just what I do—it’s who I am. I have walked these winding paths myself, through death, heartbreak, burnout, and reinvention. I know how it feels when the world shifts beneath your feet and nothing looks the way it once did. I know the disorientation, the loneliness, and the sacredness of this space. And I know the quiet beauty that emerges when we are gently held in our grief, witnessed without judgment, and supported in returning to ourselves.
While my heart work is guiding souls and families through these profound thresholds, I also offer supportive practices that help soften the journey. In my Reiki practice, I create a gentle, grounded space for your energy to settle and remember its own wisdom. Grief can leave us feeling untethered—separated from our bodies and our inner knowing. Reiki brings spaciousness, calm, and a sense of homecoming to the places within you that are carrying the weight of transition.
I also craft personalized meditations—designed uniquely for you or your group—based on the chapter you’re walking through or the intention you’re stepping toward. These meditations become companions, offering grounding during upheaval, clarity in moments of confusion, and a quiet strength as you move through sorrow, change, or new beginnings.
As your guide, I do not rush you, fix you, or lead you away from your experience. I walk beside you—attuned to your spirit, your pace, and your truth. Together, we will tend to what hurts, make space for what heals, and gently open to what’s next. With reverence, spiritual grounding, and deep compassion, I help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that loss has touched but not taken.
This is heart work. Soul work. Threshold work.
And it is an honor to walk it with you.
